Sen. George Khaniri has had a successful political career spanning more than two decades (25 years) uninterrupted. In the twelfth Parliament—he is the longest serving sitting Member of Parliament. At a very young age, Sen. Khaniri vied for the Hamisi Constituency Parliamentary seat. This was in response to persuasion from the constituents and the then president of Kenya H.E. Hon. Daniel T. Arap Moi.
The Senator has sponsored the County Law Compliance and Enforcement Bill [Sen. Bills No. 25 of 2018].
He has sponsored the following Motions; He upon the National Council for Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Ministry of East African Community, Labour and Social Protection and county governments, to carry out a nationwide registration of all persons living with disabilities in order to determine their exact population to facilitate effective service for this marginalized group of our society.
Also in his name is a motion calling upon the Ministry of Interior and the Co-ordination of National Government, in partnership with the Ministry of Defence, to establish counseling and support centers in all premises housing disciplined forces, and provide mandatory counseling to all service personnel and the families of those currently serving, and those who may have been killed in the line of duty.
